the bittersweet candy
teeseow/肚量/teasing/胖胖糖
as i type this out, i am pretty amused at how much emotions a seemingly insignifant thing can stir up within me.ha.
SERIOUSLY I THINK I NEED SOMEONE TO SLAP AND SCOLD ME SAYING THAT I THINK TOO FUCKING MUCH.
mayb MrJ was right, my mentality is of age 14. but then there is another MrJ saying im mature. haha,so wth am i? im confused.someone enlighten me? please?? i would really love to hear from you. wahaha

ANW,YAYS
1. i am so glad i joined Rovers and i think i will never ever regret it.
nature always played a major role, but this time round, the humane side reached to my heart a teeny weeny bit more.
2.without my beloved doraemon fan, a symbollic removal of naivety and protection, i somehow gained a little insight about the world of the opposite sex. its really amazing to hear the male pov. i learnt a little more the the male world and surprisingly at the same time i learnt a little more about myself too.
3. cheap thrill: my hp beeped non stop when i charged it. sms from people who cared abt me. made me feel wanted and loved. there was one which made my heart skip a beat. hah, though i suspect it was a mass-sms.
4. i helped honghong/angang, like doraemon, 我伸出援手 to help them. 施比受更有福。the happiest part was the reciprocation.( they specially bought sweets in return) awwww.
sidetracking a little, results were released today but apparently the adrenaline for this only lasted for mayb like one minute.im just really glad that theres no Cs or tapaos considering what a turmulous semester this has been. and my Sexuality module was my best module. hah, i deserve a pat on the back. wait a minute, mayb i dont, cuz my overall deproved. but owells, 随缘吧!hahaha.
i really enjoyed the first night where we saw shooting stars together.( it was a spontaneous decision to go up to the lelaki (male loo) with the guys, since i wasn't sleepy and wanted to just take a stroll) and i was absoluted delighted to see the entire night sky filled with stars:DDD our base camp was covered by a thick canopy so stars were out of sight. and well, i would say that stars were great but i enjoyed the chat more:) what made me even happier was facebook wall post annoucing "YewJ saw shooting stars at Gunung Ledang with two good friends =)" . while he declared he took on his missing matrical role(auntie), i inferred that in my case i took on my missing fatherly role(garang).
speaking of garang, im a little apprehensive.
GARANG
Malay for 'fierce' or "powerful". Can mean "impulsive", "courageous", "foolhardy".
the million dollar question:
If a girl is "garang", is it good or bad? link it with the family influence (is it to replace a missing or continue an existing patriachal figure?) and social consequence( what will boys think of it? does it repel or attract them?). does it invert the normative gender role? discuss.
"we are all just breakable boys and girls"
p.s : clarafu i miss u. are u dead or alive?
note to self: this entry is sibei luan but who cares. laoniang hua hee deo ho!( hokkien slang is influenced by president and super mario)

qingqing, i tink u will be bombarded with my sharing tmr. hoho. apologies in advance:p

falling slowly
i hope he can be a Pilot and a Pianist.
Live.Love and Laugh Passionately
Central Station/ Central do Brasil (1998)
I really enjoyed this movie.
Its been a long time since I watched such a wonderful movie.
It really marvellous seeing the 2 leads being so direct and curt to each other because everyone seems to be lying to each other in real life.
I love the fact that the female lead is a bitter and jaded old woman.
I love that the boy is so rude and blunt to admit that she hates her and tinks shes a bad person.
I love that the boy has this fixed idea that everyone should have a family, a companion.
I love it when she put on lipstick.
I love it when he touched her hair.
I love it when she tried to shake him away but failed.
I love it when he wanted to buy a dress for her and complemented her.
I love it that he cruelly pointed out that she is ugly.
I love it when she mustered her courage and cupped his hands.
I love her for being evil and do the wrong things.(this is called the antinomian pleasure.thrill)
I love her for tearing up the letters.
I love her bitterness.I love his rudeness.
I especially love the part when she took his hand, leading him down..
But actually you can see that the boy was walkng down the slope very easily. It was actually her who depended on him.
I like the imagery, the songs, the juxtaposition and their chemistry is really very very good.
I like that I can weep to this movie.
*
heres a nice song (movie is soso only, not as artistically inclined or tear jerking as Central Station, songs were great tho)

brutal but brilliant
this is for those who are forgotten. like me.
"Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space! ... These years that I have been in love have been the darkest days of my life. All because I've been cursed by being in love with a man who does not and will not love me back. Oh god, just the sight of him! Heart pounding! Throat thickening! Absolutely can't swallow! All the usual symptoms."

now i cant even complain to u?
picture credit to YewJ. When i was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When i went to school, they asked me what i wanted to be when i grew up. I wrote down "happy". They told me i didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life.

the untouchables
did i tell anyone that i really love this photo? mayb it was only a pose for the camera, but somehow, i felt loved.maybe, with the slightest chance, i am loved by someone somewhere somehow, without my ultra (over) sensitive radar detecting it.
what does this picture urge u to do?
a) grab onto the handle. its time for housework! whee
b) eeks. so dirtyyyy
c) hold me tight, let me go.
at the end of the day,
ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE:D,(even if it hurts)
recently, my eyes hurt alot. mayb i should heed advice and see a doctor soon.
before i go blind.
YAYs:
1. majong session@ gc house(lose but no need pay money)(auntie killer me)(elders love me to death)
2. badminton with ky(sweat it)
3. giving gifts to the mothers. (felt abit guilty cuz i wanted to make picture college for each of them, but laziness got the better of me)(felt ultra guilty when they all got really excited abt planning my 21 than me)
"people might not rmb what u gave or said to them, but they always rmb how u made them feel".(cant rmb exactly but sth along this line)
this is why i always think that the card and things that u say matters much more than the gift itself.
post script: ok i realise this is contradictory, but... i still think gifts are never complete without cards with heartfelt feelings written on it. somethings are never made known unless being explicitly written down. even if it doesnt convey fully, somehow, u tried. and at least on the receiving end, its not a mere speculation. ok i talk too much.
because its not about the tangible and countable.
but the invisble and untouchables.

stop the soliloquay
im very sorry for the recent emo monster unleashed in me.
i know im becoming quite crazy.
i really hope that u all will know that
im still me and pls pls pls
dun judge me
and label me
or hate me
or think im a changed person.
i am desperately trying to be happy and contented with life.
oh dear...
saveme
:(
revolutionary road
crazy movie. crazy people.
but u know what?its the crazy people that says the wisest things.
surprisingly, like wad qing said, it din make me too emo. cuz its just life. sad life. thats all.
*caveat: quotes, quotes, quotes ahead. be emo or be elmo.
April Wheeler: So now I'm crazy because I don't love you, right? Is that the point?
Frank Wheeler: No! Wrong! You're not crazy, and you do love me. That's the point, April.
April Wheeler: But I don't. I hate you. You were just some boy who made me laugh at a party once, and now I loathe the sight of you. In fact, if you come any closer, if you touch me or anything, I think I'll scream.
Frank Wheeler: Frank: Oh, come on, stop this April. [He touches her for an instant and she screams at the top of her lungs before walking away. He chases after her]
Frank Wheeler: Fuck you, April! Fuck you and all your hateful, goddamn - [He breaks a chair against a wall]
April Wheeler: What are you going to do now? Are you going to hit me? To show me how much you love me?
Frank Wheeler: Don't worry, I can't be bothered! You're not worth the trouble it would take to hit you! You're not worth the powder it would take to blow you up. You are an empty, empty, hollow shell of a woman. I mean, what the hell are you doing in my house if you hate me so much? Why the hell are you married to me? What the hell are you doing carrying my child? I mean, why didn't you just get rid of it when you had the chance? Because listen to me, listen to me, I got news for you - I wish to God that you had!
Frank Wheeler: How do I know you didn't try to flush our entire fucking family down the toilet?
John Givings: Hopeless emptiness. Now you've said it. Plenty of people are onto the emptiness, but it takes real guts to see the hopelessness.
John Givings: You want to play house you got to have a job. You want to play nice house, very sweet house, you got to have a job you don't like.
April Wheeler: Tell me the truth, Frank, remember that? We used to live by it. And you know what's so good about the truth? Everyone knows what it is however long they've lived without it. No one forgets the truth, Frank, they just get better at lying.
April Wheeler: I wanted IN. I just wanted us to live again. For years I thought we've shared this secret that we would be wonderful in the world. I don't know exactly how, but just the possibility kept me hoping. How pathetic is that? So stupid. To put all your hopes in a promise that was never made. Frank knows what he wants, he found his place, he's just fine. Married, two kids, it should be enough. It is for him. And he's right; we were never special or destined for anything at all.
John Givings: I'm glad I'm not gonna be that kid.
April Wheeler: It takes backbone to lead the life you want, Frank.
April Wheeler: You're just some guy who made me laugh at a party once.
April Wheeler: I saw a whole other future. I can't stop seeing it.
April Wheeler: Frank Wheeler, I think you're the most interesting person I've ever met.
April Wheeler: Just because you've got me safe in this little trap, you think you can bully me into feeling whatever you want me to feel!
Frank Wheeler: Well I support you, don't I? I work ten hours a day at a job I can't stand!
April Wheeler: You don't have to!
Frank Wheeler: But I have the backbone not to run away from my responsibilities!
April Wheeler: I've never really been anywhere.
Frank Wheeler: We're gonna be okay.
April Wheeler: I hope so. I really hope so.
April Wheeler: Won't you miss the city?
Frank Wheeler: Nothing's permanent, right?
April Wheeler: Right.
April Wheeler: Look at us. We're just like everyone else. We've bought into the same, ridiculous delusion.
Frank Wheeler: I want to feel things. Really feel them.
April Wheeler: Who made these rules anyway?
April Wheeler: Don't you see? That's the whole idea! You'll be able to do what you should have been aloud to do seven years ago, you'll have the time. For the first time in your life, you'll have the time to find out what it is you actually want to do. And when you figure it out, you'll have the time and the freedom, to start doing.
Frank Wheeler: This doesn't seem very realistic.
April Wheeler: No, Frank. This is what's unrealistic. It's unrealistic for a man with a fine mind to go on working year after year at a job he can't stand. Coming home to a place he can't stand, to a wife who's equally unable to stand the same things. And you know what the worst part of it is? Our whole existence here is based on this great premise that we're special. They we're superior to the whole thing. But we're not. We're just like everyone else! We bought into the same, ridiculous delusion. That we have to resign from life and settle down the moment we have children. And we've been punishing each other for it.
John Givings: You a lawyer, Frank?
Frank Wheeler: No, I'm not.
John Givings: I could use a lawyer...
Mr. Howard Givings: John, let's not get started again about the lawyer. John Givings: Pop, couldn't you just sit there and eat your wonderful egg salad, and quit horning in? [Returns his attention to Frank]
John Givings: See, I've got a good many questions to ask and I'm willing to pay for the answers... Now, I don't need to be told that a man who goes after his mother with a coffee table is putting himself in a weak position, legally; that's obvious.
Mrs. Helen Givings: John, come and have a look out this fabulous picture window. [She walks to the window]
John Givings: If he hits her with it and kills her, that's a criminal case... Mrs. Helen Givings: Oh, look, the sun's coming out!
John Givings: If all he does is break the coffee table and give her a certain amount of aggravation and she decides to go to court over it, that's a civil case...
Mrs. Helen Givings: Maybe we'll see a rainbow! John, come have a look... John Givings: Ma, how about doing everybody a favor? How about shutting up?
sidenote: one fren said im becoming like a taitai. the other said im becoming very vulgar. another said i am too deep. another said im too childish. another just remained silent. which one is right?
it alienates but yet tugs at ur very heartstring

naaley
but i failed.
things are always lost in translation.
therefore, i begin to lose faith in expressing them
what's the point of saying it when u cannot express it in its entity?
still, i seek solace in beautiful and heartwrenching lines.
Heartwrenching, would perhaps be the summary of my last semester.
But what was there to say?
Only that there were tears. Only that Quietness and Emptiness fitted
together like stacked spoons. Only that there was a snuffling in the hollows at
the base of a lovely throat. Only that a hard honeyed-coloured shoulder had a
semi-circle of teethmarks on it. Only that they held each other close, long
after it was over. Only that what they shared was not happiness, but hideous
grief.
Only that once again they broke the Love Law. That lay down who should be
loved. And how. And how much. She remained sitting for a while. Long after the song had ended. Then suddenly she rose from her chair and walked out of her world like a witch. To a better, happier place.
The red had bled away.
Silence hung in the air like secret loss.
However, for practical purpose in a hoplessly practical world...
yi qie bu guo shi guo yan yun yan. (ie. life is transient)
im thankful that the last few moments was coated with sugar glaze.
the different colours exploded into a supernova.
reminder: the thank you speech will come.
